GrabaWriter – A New Writer’s Marketplace

Grabawriter writer freelance siteAs at least half a geek, whose blog you’re currently reading, it will likely come as no surprise to you that I both enjoy writing and the internet.  Naturally then, pairing the two to make some extra money from home was nearly inevitable.

I’ve worked with Elance, Guru and even Fiverr as a frelance copy writer.  They all have their advantages and downsides.  However, there’s a new game in town – GrabAWriter.

After spending some time in beta, they recently launched a really polished, bug free site. They’ve got a nice start on groups of talented writers and legitimate businesses already and seem posed to strike the market hard. I registered as a writer quickly, the process was fast and easy. More importantly, they asked interesting, relavant questions.  More on that below.

I’m excited for this site. They’ve done a few things in a new way as well as combining some of the best things about the other sites into one.  Notably, the following:

  • Writers set their own rate as $ per words
  • Writers set their turn around time in hours
  • Writers set their maximum daily word output, so as to avoid getting overbooked
  • Writers choose 5 niches of passion as well as 5 particular strong areas of writing (ie: articles, sales copy etc)
  • Businesses can search by any of these

This has the potential to make a lot more pleasant and sucessful business relationships. I’m really looking forward to growing with this site.  Just a heads up to you, my faithful readers, get in early!

Have you gotten any work through this site? It looks cool, but I’m not sure there is enough of a buyer base yet.
